Buy a tree, plant a tree
This year, Bents has teamed up with Ecologi, an organisation whose mission it is to inspire and empower businesses to take action on climate change. And through this partnership, we will be planting a real tree for every artificial Christmas tree we sell online and in-store.
With this initiative, and by purchasing your artificial tree from Bents, you can contribute to reforestation and help mitigate climate change. This way, your purchase not only serves a decorative purpose but also supports the vital goal of increasing tree cover and reducing carbon emissions.
Reforestation efforts involve planting real trees, which is a highly effective way to combat climate change. Trees absorb carbon dioxide through photosynthesis, store carbon, and release oxygen, while also providing numerous environmental benefits, such as supporting biodiversity and improving air and water quality.
Where in the world
At the time of writing this blog, we have been able to fund the planting of 495 trees across four different projects and we hope this figure will rise significantly in the run up to Christmas.
These projects include forest regeneration projects in Kenya and Ethiopia and mangrove planting in Mozambique and Madagascar, projects which are all run by Eden Reforestation, who work with local communities to restore landscapes on a huge scale.
Eden Reforestation is a non-project organisation who’s mission it is ‘to provide fair wage employment to impoverished villagers as agents of global reforestation’. They aim to create jobs and protect eco-systems, whilst ultimately helping to mitigate climate change.
By teaming up with Ecologi who provide the vital link to organisations such as Eden Reforestation we can help contribute to these aims by providing funding for the planting of trees.
