Surely there’s no better combination than fresh air, exercise and home grown produce; all of which can be achieved by growing your own and the reason why we created the Bents’ Community Allotments.
Located just across the road from the Centre, our Community Allotments provide gardeners with a blank canvas to indulge in their love of gardening; somewhere to design, plan, grow and harvest seasonal ingredients straight from the soil.
All of our 40 plots are currently being lovingly cared for by greenfingered growers, all of whom form part of our Bents Community Allotment Association who oversee the site.
And whilst the majority of our plots are tended to by private individuals, two have been donated to the local community; one is looked after by Glazebury Parish Church and the second by Andy’s Man Club, the men’s suicide prevention charity.
More information about how to get involved with Andy’s Man Club can be found at https://andysmanclub.co.uk/ and for details about the work they do at the Bents’ allotment contact Thomas Houston at thomashouston703@hotmail.com.
All plots include compostable area and 5% discount for use at Bents with your 'be inspired' card.
A place to play
Next door to our Allotments is the Community Play area which we helped create with the Glazebury Village Association. Having struggled to find a solution for a local play area we were delighted to be able to provide this piece of land which has grown into a fantastic facility for little ones to enjoy and all members of the community to use.
