Christmas is coming and it’s time to get creative with your decorations. We’ve asked our experts for some of their recommendations for decorating the home and have put together a top ten list of festive ideas, helping you brighten things up and make the most of our Christmas decorations sale this year.

1. Choose your tree

A beautifully dressed tree usually forms the centrepiece to home Christmas decorations. We have a huge selection of artificial Xmas trees in stock in our Christmas decorations sale, and our experts can help advise on what will work best in your home and help you get the look you want.

2. Use space wisely

Small Christmas trees are a smart choice for smaller rooms, but if you don't want to lose any of the height of a small Xmas tree, a slimline Christmas tree is the way to go. With a slim Christmas tree you take up less space around the tree, but there's still plenty of branches to pack with beautiful decorations and baubles.

3. Light it up

LED Christmas tree lights are the modern way to light up a tree, saving energy and running at a cooler temperature than traditional fairy lights - they can also be less prone to problems when it comes to switching them on for the first time each year!

4. Outdoor Christmas lights

Don't forget your outside space. With our outside Christmas lights and outdoor tree lights, there are plenty of ways to brighten up your exterior and garden - we even have outdoor battery Christmas lights if there's no mains socket available out there.

5. Not just trees

You'll find more than just trees in our Christmas decorations sale. A Christmas wreath is a quick and easy way to brighten up a doorway, while a Christmas garland can hang over an archway, mantelpiece or banister, with Xmas lights that can be tacked up around furniture, doorways and ceilings.

6. Build your own Christmas village

A Lemax Christmas village makes an excellent table centrepiece or a decorative addition to a shelf or sideboard, and with plenty of new additions in our 2018 Lemax sale, there's something new even if you're an avid collector.

7. A blush of rose gold

There are many different colours in our Christmas tree decorations sale, but rose gold baubles are some of the warmest and most luxurious, giving your tree a precious glow with just a hint of pink in amongst the golden metallic shine.

8. Pretty in pink

For a fun and festive colour scheme, opt for pink baubles - you can hang them on the tree, from banisters, picture rails and light fittings, or put some together in a glass vase as a simple centrepiece.

9. Blue and silver

Blue baubles work well with silver accessories and Christmas tree icicle lights for a colour scheme that pays tribute to the frosty weather outside - you can get frosted artificial Xmas trees if you want to take the cool effect even further.

10. Purple passion

Finally, purple Christmas decorations are in stock as part of our Christmas tree decorations sale, and while this is not so traditional as red and green, or blue and silver, it's an increasingly popular colour that works great alongside metallic Christmas tree decorations too.
